Bounce house rental company owners should take heed.

"It was an accident," said Bob Kashou, who owns the air-bubble sports complex on Airport Road. "Thank God nobody got seriously injured."

15 people treated at the scene and 10 taken to the hospital for carbon monoxide poisoning.

The problem occurred during a fall festival for children in which five diesel generators were used to inflate a children’s bounce house, Kashou said. A few weeks ago, he talked to the festival’s organizer, Bobby K. Entertainment of Elmira, and was told the generators would be outside and that cables would be used to deliver air inside the facility. Instead, generators were placed inside the facility — the first time that’s happened since the facility opened last year, he said.

Rosie survived.

A year ago on Tuesday, the three-year-old was left fighting for life after a bouncy castle was blown into the air.

Rosie plummeted 50ft on to a concrete path - and was crushed by a metal fan that sheared off the giant inflatable.

She suffered a punctured lung, smashed ribs and bruising to her brain and was airlifted to hospital in a coma.

Others didn’t.

Two people died and dozens were injured - including Rosie’s brother Jack, five - when the inflatable was ripped from its moorings at a family fun day.

What happened?

Castle designer Maurice Agis, 74, from Bow, London, was arrested on suspicion of manslaughter last November.

He is on bail pending the results of a joint probe by police and the Health and Safety Executive.
